Leeland Jones video posted on February 24, 2019, transcribed:

We’re going to do a message here and a video on all the locations of the Lord Jesus Christ and His crucifixion, His final time. And we’re going to start this and come back to this place, it’s not the authentic place of the Last Supper.

We have a building here which you can see behind me, which is medieval, it’s not the authentic place.  But for the Story, I’m going to go through Places and I’m going to tell you if it’s authentic and I’m going to tell you if it’s not, as we go through these Sites.

But sometimes in archeology you have like something significant, and then something significant is built on top of that, and on top of that, and built on top of that. So that it may give a credence that originally  there was something there that was very important.

That could be what we have here.  It’s very difficult to prove that until we can find the actual evidence of where the Last Supper was, and where the Disciples assembled for the Upper Room. So they call this the Last Supper the Upper Room, so we’re going to start here and we’re going to come back to this later. I apologize for all the tourists and all the people, it’s an absolute mob scene.

There is so many people, there is nothing I can do, but let’s go inside.

Here we are inside of the Last Supper Upper Room, you can see the arches.  It’s very old, but for Jerusalem sake, it’s actually not that old.  This is the Room that we call the Last Supper.  But, did they meet here?  Maybe, maybe not.

However, let’s remember the Story about the Last Supper. The Lord Jesus is Himself the Lamb that was slain from the foundations of the earth for our sins. And so they celebrate Passover, and that’s the Last Supper.

So that’s where we’re going to start is Passover, Upper Room.

{2:33 min mark}

Now we’re doing our ascent of the Mount of Olives. Behind me you can see the Fortress Antonia, the Dome of the Rock, and everything on the opposite side. And we’ll get another view.

But the reason why we are doing this, I know many of you haven’t come to Jerusalem and you like the tour aspect of this, so I’m going to show you the sites. But what I really hope that you understand is that even in our present time, Christ is still on Trial!

{Hebrews 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.}

One of the Apostle’s said, ‘You crucify Him anew.’  And because of people and their evil and wicked ways, this same stuff is going on. They are STILL denying Jesus Christ.  All of them!  Muslims, Jews, Christians. That’s why this whole place, that’s why this place is Mystery Babylon.

Now as we begin our ascent, let’s remember what He said, as we look at this Fortress here.  The Apostles went to Him on the Mount of Olives, we’re going to the Mount of Olives.  And the famous Olivet Discourse in the account in Luke 21, He says in an answer to the Apostles:

{Luke 21:5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, 6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.}

The Apostles said, ‘Lord, look at the goodly stones.’  The amazing foundation.  Now you would’ve been able to see the Temple from the Mount of Olives.  But He said, ‘You see all these stones, you see all these buildings.  Verily I say unto you, there will not be one stone upon another.’ In the Temple, in the buildings.

What do we have?  We have stones right here, still here.  So what’s happening is in the Last Days people are saying, “No, no, the words of Jesus aren’t true!”  Or they say all kind of lies, like, “Oh, He was talking about the buildings!”  No!  He said the stones!  These are stones.

So in the Last Days they are contesting His Words!  That’s what it’s about, His Words!  His Words said this.

Then He begins to talk about the Discourse on the Mount of Olives, right up here. We’re still walking up.  You can see the Valley of Dry Bones, it goes all the way up.  And He continued to say, {Luke 21:8} ‘Take heed that no man deceive you.’  And then He goes into, {verse 9} ‘There will be wars and rumors of wars,’ and the rest of the Last Days, His 2nd Coming description.

But let’s remember what He said in His LAST DAYS description, He says, {Luke 21:6} ‘There will be NO stone left upon another.’

{Luke 21:33} ‘Heaven and earth will pass away, but His Words will not pass away.’

{5:39 min mark}

Now here we are on the famous Mount of Olives.

And you can see all the Old City of Jerusalem behind me.  So it was on this that He told His Disciples about His 2nd Coming.  Let’s take a closer look, I’ll show you some of the things that we can view from up here and what we can see on the other side.

{6:06 min mark} As we’re looking here, we are facing West.

This is the Wall to the Fortress Antonia.

The road that’s going up, the entrance here is called Lions Gate.

And then there’s another Gate here called Golden Gate, and we can show you that.

And the drop off into the Kidron Valley is down here.  That’s the very bottom of it.

So that’s a deep valley that going down all the way along here. Down and around the corner here, we have the City of David. Maybe I’ll try to get another view for that.

But if you followed the messages here, this is the area called the Ophel, all of this. That’s called the Ophel.

Of course this is Al-Aqsa Mosque with the Black Dome.

With the Gold Dome of course, the Dome of the Rock. It’s the area with lots of trees and everything.

As we look, lots of buildings in the background are outside of the Old City.

But we do have a lot of things inside the Old City. So let’s take a look at some of those.

Actually just outside.  See these two Churches are called Mount Zion, and that’s where we will see Caiaphas {A High Priest during Jesus time}.

Caiaphas Palace is somewhere in this vicinity, I’m not certain exactly.  So that’s Caiaphas house.

Some things are obscured, but I can see with my naked eye.  I’m going to try to show you. This tall building here, just below it, if I can get my finger here.  Right there, that’s part of Herod’s Palace.  And that Palace, that building would’ve run all the way along, all the way to these walls here.  Do you see those walls? When those walls continue there, that’s where Herod’s Palace is.

Let’s remember it’s up here where the Lord said.  Okay, look from this view, they are on the Mount of Olives and they’re saying, ‘Lord, look at all the beautiful Temple.’

Well that’s in this area. Some where in this area is the Temple.  Very, very visible.  And He said, ‘Verily, verily I say unto you, there shall not be one stone turned upon another.’  So He pronounced Judgment.  That Judgment came in 70 A.D. and it was destroyed.

The only thing really left to this day, it’s very difficult to find things, is the Roman Fortress.  And that goes all the way up to here, where I believe.  Yea, because the road is just outside, and then inside is the Fort Antonia.

{9:55 min mark}

Now here again is the City of David.  It’s here, and goes down and becomes obscured, by…

….this is the other side of the cliff base of Kidron Valley, as it goes.

This is the City of David area here. And then it turns and goes down beyond there.

{10:16 min mark}

One of the things that people like here is the Camel on the Mount of Olives.

Now as we walk up the Mount of Olives, this is the other side of Jerusalem that you don’t see.  Vomit on the streets.  This is just the reality, this is Jerusalem.

Here on the Mount of Olives, it’s important for us to remember the Lord Jesus Christ, He visited His Disciples over 40 Days and after 40 Days He ascended from the Mount of Olives. And He said that He would return {Matthew 24}.  And 2 Messengers were standing by and they said,

‘Why stand you here looking up, don’t you know He’s going to return in the same manner?’

{Acts 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Zechariah 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.}

So this is where He is going to come.  In Zachariah 14 it said, ‘His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives.’ This is the Place.  Whether if this is the actual Church, it’s up here, it’s THIS Mountain. This Mountain is NOT to be confused with another mountain.

So that is what we are waiting for, He’s going to come in His glory.

And so that part of His Olivet Discourse, where He is talking to the Apostles about His 2nd Coming and everything else.  There are so many Prophecies that tell us about this Place, this Mount of Olives.

He says, ‘Don’t go into any specific location.’  But at the same time, He’s going to come in the Clouds where every eye will see Him.  Yet, His feet will come and rest on the Mount of Olives.

So He ascended from here, and the soles of His feet will come on this Mountain once again. It says that the King goes from the Mountain into the East Gate.  Presently, I’m on the other side of the Mountain.

This is the view, the opposite side of Jerusalem. But the other view that we shown you on the Mount of Olives which is more of panoramic.

So this is the Mount of Olives here. Up here again,  is a Russian Orthodox Church.

We’re on the Mount of Olives, and we are on the place believed to be the Ascension Place.  And you can see here a large tower that kind of memorializes this Site. So it is a place of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Look at this!  Talk about Light and darkness.  Isn’t that amazing?  Wow!  Wow, wow, wow!

He is the Light!

And in Him is no darkness.

{13:50 min mark}

Now we are in a place called the Garden of Gethsemane.  And I don’t know if you can tell, but there are very large Olive trees here {behind Leeland’s right hand}.  It’s uncertain if we are in the authentic location, but it’s an amazing Garden.  You can see wonderful Olive trees.  It kind of reminds us of the Lord when He said, ‘Could you not pray one hour.’ {Matthew 26:40}

And that’s what we have here is this Garden.  Whether it’s the authentic Garden or not, you know, ‘Could we not pray one hour?’  So, we know that this is the next stop that He had, and this is next to the Kidron Valley just like the Scriptures say. What I can do is I can show you the other side which gives us the vantage point.  In John, it talks about the Valley of Kidron.

So this may not be the actual Garden?  But sometimes when you are in Jerusalem you get a sense in your spirit when something is real, something is not.  You don’t get a sense that this is absolutely it, but you’re just reminded, it memorializes what the Message is of Christ.

So you just saw the Church there, but here we have the Kidron Valley right here. So the Garden is going to be very close to this Valley here.  There’s one of the Churches, and we have hundreds of years old these Olive trees.  But, “Could we not pray one hour?”

So that is our segment on the Garden of Gethsemane.  And let’s remember that this is one of the two Gardens that the Lord mentioned.

{15:51 min mark}

Now this is probably the oldest tree in the Garden of Gethsemane area, where we are.  It’s very, very large, it’s really hard to put in video the enormous size of what this looks like.  But this is all within the Garden.  There is other ones like this, hundreds and hundreds of years old.

And here is another really, really, large, large, old, old Olive tree.

{16:26 min mark}

Next our journey brings us to the Palace of Caiaphas.  Nothing you see here is perfect evidence of Caiaphas Palace. But the area we’re in is called Mount Zion. And what we have is you can see here, the Walls of the City.

We’re South of the Walls of the present day City, but these Walls would of included this area back in the time of the 2nd Temple.  And we know that Caiaphas was in this general area, because we do have evidence of something in a burial chamber bearing his name.

And there is also a freeze {17:13 min mark, plaque with a phrase? } that says Caiaphas here, that I believe one of the Synagogues knows about.  Unfortunately, I don’t have any official documentation on that, it’s just things I’ve heard here.  However the general concensus is that Caiaphas was in fact in this area called Mount Zion, and he had a Palace. In fact, let’s take a look at what that may have looked like in an Old Map of Jerusalem.

{17:45 min mark}

We have another Temple model here, and here we have what is being depicted as the house, the Palace of Caiaphas. As you can see it is round like a Synagogue.

And here we have Herod’s Palace being described, which is as the Tower of David in the more modern times.

So if we look on how it is being depicted, we do have a current Wall of the Old City, Mount Zion, and this is Caiaphas house.

{18:18 min mark}

Here we have a Map of Jerusalem.

And in it, we have something believe to be Caiaphas Palace.

We have Herod’s Palace here.

So that’s a nice representation of what we would see in 70 A.D.

{18:40 min mark}

Now where we are in the Story is after they come from the Mount of Olives, which you can see behind me:

particularly here between the trees, is then they bring Him to the Palace of Caiaphus. That’s somewhere where I am presently, and from there they go to Pilate. But what happens here, they do have a Church and there are some things here.  We know that this is the general area.  But usually what happens is you do have Churches like the one we showed you with the Upper Room, to where they believe it is the location, but not all the time it’s the evidence.

However, I am going to point out from my vantage point on one of the Churches, where they say Peter denied the Lord.  So let’s take a look at that.

We aren’t going to walk there, but if we look straight and go between these trees, there’s a Church there.  And if you ever come to Jerusalem, you will notice it is the one that has the Rooster on the top. So that is called the Church of Saint Peter in Gallicantu.

So now we have gown from the Mount of Olives, we’ve come to Caiaphus Palace here, and then we go to Pilate.

{19:53 min mark}

We are now at Herod’s Palace and Pontius Pilate.  The Lord Jesus Christ comes to Pontius Pilate, and what happens is he realizes that Yeshua {Jesus} is from Galilee, and Galilee is a different Jurisdiction.  So when He comes, he then sends Yeshua over to Herod, because Herod is over the Jurisdiction of Galilee. Herod happens to be in Jerusalem for the time of Passover.  So now we’re going to Herod…

{20:30 min mark}

Now as we enter the Temple Mount area, we come through those gates and then you can see the Dome of the Rock behind me.  One thing I want to suggest is that of course, if this is a Fortress here, you would also have a place that Herod interrogated Jesus.

In the process, Yeshua, He first appeared before Pilate and Pilate was in Herod’s Palace. However, Herod was in Jerusalem. Let’s explain just a little bit, because even though it is Herod’s Palace, it’s not the same Herod.

There was a Herod {the great} that built many of the structures in Jerusalem.  And he is the one if you remember, that tried to kill Yeshua and Yeshua fled to Egypt. {Herod the great; Matthew 2:1, 3, 7, 12, 13, 15, 16, 19, 22; Luke 1:5; 23:15; aka the 1st Herod}

After Herod {the great} died {Matthew 2:19}, Yeshua came back to Israel. Well, that Herod is not the same Herod at the time of His crucifixion, that’s a different Herod and he had Jurisdiction in Galilee. So Pilate finds out that Yeshua is from Galilee, and he sends Him to Herod {Antipas or the tetrarch; Matthew 14:1, 3, 6, Mark 6:14, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22;  8:15; Luke 3:1, 19, 19; 9:7, 9; 13:31; 23:7, 8, 11, 12; Acts 4:27; 13:1}.  Let’s call him that 2nd Herod.

That Herod is not permanently in Jerusalem, he is there because it is the Passover Season.   So he is in a place where he judges Yeshua.  And many believe that when he was here, he doesn’t have a permanent Palace/residence to the extent that Pilate does.

So Yeshua may have been judged right here, by Herod. Herod again, is not full time in Jerusalem, but he is in Jerusalem for the time of Passover.  {Luke 23:6-7} And Pilate finds out that Yeshua is from Galilee, and because He is from Galilee, He must see Herod.  So Herod happens to be in Jerusalem.

And so we believe that in this Place, in the Fortress, is where Yeshua was judged by Herod.  So that’s WHY this Place is significant. And that is very important, because we have 2 Places where Yeshua was interrogated.

Herod is excited to meet Yeshua, because he heard about Him and His miracles.  And he asked Him many questions, but Yeshua didn’t answer them {Luke 23:8}. But isn’t that interesting, What If the actual location of kind of a Tent or Judgment Hall or something, what if that was here {Temple Mount/Antonia Fortress}:

And not only that, What If that was here {Dome of the Rock}:

Josephus seems to suggest that even there was a Large Stone when He was interrogated, and underneath the Dome of the Rock and the Temple Mount is a Large Stone. So that could be something that is very interesting, very compelling, that all of these contentions over this {Leeland points to the Dome of the Rock/Temple Mount} is really the Place where Yeshua was judged.

Of course He was an innocent, He was a Lamb without spot or wrinkle, but these are the Places that He was judged in Jerusalem.

{24:06 min mark}

Okay, a very, very important Site.  We are here at a Gate that some archeologists call the Gate of Essenes, and it’s a Gate that has great, great significance.  Whenever in the ancients when you enter a City, you entered the Walls, you entered through a Gate.

Before you is remanence of a Gate that entered INTO Herod’s Palace.  This is the Story that hopefully you are all familiar with, that the Jews had taken now Christ to Pilate.  And they would’ve taken Him to somewhere called the Palace, or a Praetorium. And we do know that in fact that is Herod’s Palace.

Now don’t get confused, because this is Pontius Pilate and he is the one in Jerusalem.  The Herod {the great; #1} that built many of the things in Jerusalem, was the one that died when Christ went to Egypt as a child. But, his Palace remained and the Romans had taken it.

There’s many things about this that match what you are looking at here, perfectly with the Scriptures. For one, we have a Judgment Seat {where Leeland is pointing to in the above photo}. Now outside the City, Pontius Pilate was speaking to the Jews.

Passover was coming, so the Jews would not go into the Gate.  They wouldn’t go into the Gate, because of the Idols and the Statues.  They would have been defiled by going into a Pagan temple, essentially.  So there has to be a Place that is opened to the outside, and the people would then decide, Who would be crucified.

This is where they said, ‘Release to us Barabbas!’

{Luke 23:18 And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas: 19 (Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.)}

 So there is a Place here that we are going to point out in a second, but let’s give you an overview:

  • we have an entrance {where Leeland is standing},
  • we have a Seat {where Leeland is pointing to in the above photo}.

We have something that we’re going to look at very closely, when you look at that sign {on Leeland’s left side, where he is standing} and you look over to it, you will see in the Walls…Pavement Stones.  So these are the Steps, the Pavement Stones. And there was a layer of those going across, but the archeologists dug them up to try to find lower evidence.

But what they dug up, was the Place that Pontius Pilate appeared before Jesus Christ.   So let’s take you inside Herod’s Palace, the part that is now-a-days a little bit smaller. But we can show you Herod’s Palace, some of the remanence of that, and then other cultures built on top.  We’re going to show you that, and give you an overview of what that looked like as a Fortress.

{26:57 min mark}

We are in an area that is called Herod’s Palace. If you were to come here, you would see that it is called the Tower of David.

And we do have evidence of Herod’s building here. We do have Herodian stones here. And we do know that this is Herod’s Palace.

This is of course Islamic in some of the top construction, and others have come in here and rebuilt this.

We can see this feature is Islamic, as is the Tower here.  So they call it the Tower of David, but does it really have anything to do with David?

The best we can tell, this is what it looks like at the present time and it did have 4 Large Towers.

But it’s much smaller now than it would have been at the time of Christ.

At the time of Christ it would have past along the Western portion of the Wall quite a ways, until we see the feature of the Gate, the Judgment Seat. But in modern times we have evidence here of lots of building going back B.C., Herod.

So this is Herod’s Palace. There is very, very strong evidence of that: lots of Herodian stones, lots of information here kind of solidifying the case that it was Herod’s Palace. Which is important for us, because even though it is called Herod’s Palace, it was Pontius Pilate that was here when he judged Christ:

{29:25 min mark}

The next thing we have is to describe this area.  In the ancients what they would do is they would have a Gate, and there would be someone that Judge at the Gate.  This goes all the way back to Job and throughout the whole Biblical times, you always had a Wall City and a Gate. And the people would Judge at the Gate.

Now this Gate here is the Gate of Pontius Pilate.  And it has something very significant, it has a Bema Seat. What a Bema Seat is it’s a Judgment Seat. So what we have here is we have an open Place where the people would gather outside the Walls……outside of Herod’s Palace, and this is where they would’ve brought Christ.

But there are remnants and steps that we see over here that would’ve went inside, and inside would had been a Judgment Hall.

{Matthew 27:11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. 12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. 13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? 14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.}

So Christ was taken inside, and Pontius Pilate asked him privately and was talking with Him.  Well that’s inside the Judgment Hall, that is inside the Palace.  But then the outside is a more Public Place.  So let’s take a look at the evidence here:

  • and take a look at the Bema Seat,
  • and the Gabatha, it’s also called the Lithostrōtos {in Greek} which means pavement stones.

You can see the steps here, you can see steps there, but these pavement stones are pavement stones that we’ve seen throughout the cardos {? 31:05 min mark} and everything else.  So they are very significant, they’re called Lithostrōtos and Gabatha.

{31:12 min mark}

Here are these stones and they are in Hebrew Gabatha and in Greek Listhostrotos, and you can see they are remaining.  These are the pavement stones that would’ve been the walking surface of the inner structure of the Gate going inside.

Interesting enough we’ve shown you this in other video’s, this is the aerated concrete {cube shape}, and just right here is where the Dedicated the Altar {on December 10, 2018: To learn more, please watch Altar Dedication in Jerusalem on Hanukkah for Third Temple, the link is at the bottom of this blog post}.  So like we have been saying, Christ is still being Judged!  And so we have this stone here, kind of recognizing that.

So we have the stones.  These would’ve been stones that you walked on the walking surface.  And then we also have steps going up into the Gate. So let’s look at those.

There’s the stone, and here’s the steps.

Again a lot of this was excavated, but this is the entrance and the steps that would’ve led inside the Gate. Now, over here is the Bema Seat {to the left}.  And the Bema Seat is the Judgment Seat.

This is an area of the Judgment Seat.

The Judgment Seat would look out over the people, being exposed to the outside.  So when there were public judgments and verdicts and different things that Pontius Pilate would need to do, he would address the people in a Seat.

We know that Jesus Christ is King of kings and Lord of lords, He will rule the whole world, it’s called the White Throne Judgment.  That word Throne is a Bema Seat.

At His crucifixion, when Pilate had offered up a criminal and they said, ‘No, no, crucify Christ.’  What Pontius Pilate did is he put a purple robe on Him. He put a Crown of Thorns, we’ll show you the Crown of Thorns that was over in the exhibit, and then he seated Him on the Seat.

So Christ sat down on that Seat.

{John 19:14} And Pontius Pilate said, “Behold your King!”  {John 19:15} And they said, “We have no King but Caesar.” {Matthew 27:25} And they said, “Let his blood be on our hands {and on our children}.” And that remains to this Day!

But, that is the significance of this Platform here, this area.  There were other places to where similar things were seen in Gates.  There is a rendering of the Gate here, but it doesn’t really offer up the Story of the Gospel.  The Story of the Gospel has a Seat that outlooks over the people, which Pontius Pilate did.

The other parts of this Gate and structure that led into Herod’s Palace,

but this is the Bema Seat.

And I’m doing this in hope that you would understand, that the world is still judging Christ!  They’re still questioning Christ!  They’re still questioning the Gospel, ‘Was He resurrected?  Did this Story really happen?’

Here in Jerusalem, this is NOT recognized on any plaques.  When the official authority here does digs, they DON’T mention the New Testament!  For Christians, they flock here by the thousands, and they have NO clue about this!  But the Lord has led me Divinely to many of the things that you are seeing in this video, to Testify the Truth of Jesus Christ.

So it was here from this Seat that He sat, and Pilate said, “Behold your King!”  Then what happens from this Place is the Cross is picked up.  The Cross is picked up, and then we are going to go to the Garden Tomb.

But it’s just amazing when you’re in Jerusalem, you would think that you would easily find the information, the Truth.  No!  The Truth is Hidden!  He was born in a manger.  Golgotha is a bus station. This is a Hidden Gate! This is tremendously significant to us in our Faith.

He is going to Judge the Whole World, and Pilate put Him on this Seat as a Prophetic message of Who He would be on a White Throne judging the whole earth. So it’s my hope that you understand that.

Sure you would like to come to Jerusalem and all of that, but it doesn’t matter.  You could come here and not have any clue about the Truth!  But then you could come here and we worship in Spirit and in Truth.  So your Spirit will be excited.  And it’s my hope that your Spirit is excited throughout this message, as we Testify the Truth of Jesus Christ.

So this is the Gate.  We’ll take a look, we’ll pan around and show you, and try to imagine as you will the Gate, the Structures, and everything that would’ve happened in the Gospel. But let’s remember, it was from this place where He would’ve taken the Cross and gone to the Garden Tomb.

The route to do that is a little lesser known, because when we head from this place we do know where the Walls go, but then the West and then the North the location of the Walls are less known.

These are all new Walls, only a few hundred years old.  We don’t have strong indications like we do over here {by the Gate entrance}.  Let’s go over here and look.  We’ll show you some Herodian stones that we showed you Herodian stones everywhere else.

We do have them here.

And as we look out. So what you would do is you would look out, and you would look over the people. So that is what Pontius Pilate did.

That’s the Gate, the Entrance, now imagine that Structure continuing up into the Palace here:

The Judgment Seat is there.

And then inside is a Judgment Hall. Now let’s take a look at the stones, and you can see of course rebuilt stones with there smooth edges.

But right here, you see these, those are Herodian stones in there Original Place. Sure there is mortar there, because they refilled them, but those are Original there.

And then as we look out, then this is the rest of the Gate.  So now from here, we are going to take up our Cross and we’re going to follow Him, and we’re going to go to the Garden Tomb.

{38:25 min mark}

So we went from the area where Pontius Pilate was, and let’s go over some of the verses in the Scriptures to now kind of retrace our steps. What were some of the things we were talking about.  We went through things very quickly.  But let’s go to the Gospel of John, and let’s kind of go over John chapter 19.

John 19:1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, 3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands. 4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him. 5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

So He went inside, remember we showed you inside the Gate, and then He comes back outside with the people.  And He has the crown of thorns on His head, He has the purple robe, ‘And Pilate said to them, Behold the man!’

John 19:6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. 7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

So now let’s show you the Crown of Thorns that we saw in the Shroud of Turin exhibit.

{40:00 min mark}

Here is the Crown of Thorns, and we are at the Shroud of Turin exhibit.

Here are the Nails.

And a replica of the Shroud, you can watch the other video on the Linen Cloth {Shroud of Turin Exhibit – Jerusalem, link at the bottom of this blog post}.

{40:24 min mark}

John 19:13 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.

We were showing you the Pavements. Remember the Pavements?  Now in Greek that is Lithostrōtos, Pavement.  In the Hebrew it says, Gabbatha.  So that’s why those Pavement Stones that we saw in that Wall was so important, because that must be a Feature of this Place.

John 19:14 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

Remember, he sat Him in the Seat and said, ‘Behold your King!’

John 9:15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar. 16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

Next what we’re going to do is we’re going to look at the Place of the Skull.

{41:20 min mark}

And here we have Golgotha, the Place of the Skull.

Bus station and the Cave {is to the left}, and then here is the Eyes.

Here is a little bit of a view of Golgotha.  The bus station, and up there….{the Skull}.

{more views of the area}

{42:13 min mark}

John 19:19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS {Iésous in Greek}  OF NAZARETH THE KING {Melek in Hebrew} OF THE JEWS {Yehudah in Hebrew}.

Now here we have the Places where it was that it said, the plaques in 3 languages. So that is what John describes: Yeshua, Iesous of Nazereth Melek of the Yehudah or Jews.  So that was written in 3 languages: in Hebrew, in Greek and in Latin.  And that is what we have here, this is the Crucifixion Site.

{John 19:39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. 40 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. 41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.}

Now I want to move ahead a little bit, and then let’s talk about Nicodemus preparing the spices and aloes, and then they brought Him with linen clothes to a place in a Garden.  So this area is a Garden, so we’ll show you around the Garden, and the Tomb.

{43:38 min mark}

Now what we can see here is in this plaque, they actually have the verse that we were just reading.

“THEN JOSEPH OF ARIMATHEA AND NICODEMUS TOOK THE BODY OF JESUS, AND BOUND IT IN STRIPS OF LINEN {Leeland: ‘the Shroud of Turin’} WITH THE SPICES, AS THE CUSTOM OF THE JEWS IS TO BURY.  NOW IN THE PLACE WHERE HE WAS CRUCIFIED THERE WAS A GARDEN, AND IN THE GARDEN A NEW TOMB IN WHICH NO ONE HAD YET BEEN LAID.  SO THERE THEY LAID JESUS, BECAUSE OF THE JEWS’ PREPARATION DAY, FOR THE TOMB WAS NEARBY. (CF. JOHN 19:40-42)”

So that’s the Tomb here, it’s very, very busy right now.

And we’ll show you more evidence of the Garden.

{44:17 min mark}

Now when we saw that is said this place of a Garden, below what you can see is a Winepress. This is like a 1st century Winepress, so this is proof and evidence that the Site here was in fact a Garden. Clearly it is a Garden here now, and to give you an idea of the vantage point, we have the Winepress here.  And then just over here:

we have the Tomb. See all the people are going into the Tomb there. But we also believe that this is Prophetically the King’s Winepress:

And that is what it says in Zechariah 14:10.  So again, very, very significant.

{Zechariah 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. 10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses. 11 And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.}

{45:02 min mark}

He died for us!  He died for us.

Here is another Garden, let’s look at this.

More speaking platforms. A service going on there.

And here we have the Tomb area.

There is a service going on there, so we are not going to interrupt that.

But here it is.

This is the Tomb.

{47:04 min mark, inside the Tomb}

Here we are in the Garden Tomb. He died for us.  He died for us.

‘I am crucified in Christ, nevertheless I live.’ {Galatians 2:20}

So I think it’s interesting here that you have a Tomb, and another tomb.

So He died for us so that we would live. And this appears to be our tomb.

Which He’s also raised us from Death unto Everlasting Life.

Here we are on the outside of the Tomb area.

Right here is a troth, see it’s about a foot and a half wide.

And the stone would’ve been up here, and the Angels would’ve rolled it.

There were at the time metal almost barbs that was holding that stone in place, that the Angels sheared off and broke.

But this is the area right outside the Tomb.

{48:26 min mark}

Now, I have something so exciting to show you.

See that? That’s the 1st Church, the Church of James.  We’re going to show you inside and show you what it was like for the 1st Church.

{48:53 min mark, inside the Church of James}

We are here at the 1st Church, and we’re going to go inside and show you this is the Church.  The Underground Church before it was rich and making big buildings, they lived in Caves just like this, running for their lives.

So this is this Church, we’re going to walk you through.  We’re going to take you on a tour and show you everything inside, and it is a really, really amazing place.

The 1st Church here that we believe was with the apostle James, we have a table here.  And amazingly, they have Communion set up.  So some people know about this place and they do come here.

And basically what you would have to do is, the Church was Hidden, they were running for their lives, so this particular place was Underground connecting to tunnels and different things for the early Church to escape, because the persecution was so heavy.

So then we are going to go in here, inside, and put the light on so you can see what’s like in the Cave.

Now we begin to enter the Cave and as we do, we can see that there are a lot to do to preserve it. This is what they would have to do, is hide in places like this.  Let’s get a light. So now we’ve walked in through here into a Cave:

And in this Cave is where the Apostle’s met.  And from what I understand, there was various escape patches where they had to flee through various tunnels, and essentially had to run for their lives from the Jews, the Romans, as they assembled. So this is a Cave underground. It may have been reused and repurposed as a cistern or some other things.

But this is the 1st Church.

And as we walk through the passage way, we can see a Table where they prepared Communion.

As we walk up the stairs, there’s also like a kind of basin to wash.  And there’s water in here.

{51:51 min mark}

Now as we wrap it up and we see the Church, “What is the significance of this, Leeland?” Well, you can see we are on Mount Zion. We know this as well by the Towering Edifices…..where is it…behind the tree somewhere, that this is Mount Zion. We know from Revelation 14 that the Lamb will be on Mount Zion.

Right where this all Started, right here, is right where this will all End.

{Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.}

The Lamb on the Throne on Mount Zion, and with Him a 144,000 signing the New Song.  These are those that are redeemed from the earth, they’re redeemed from men, they’re not defiled by woman, they are without guile before the Throne.  God’s Word will be performed.  This is Mount Zion, and that is certainly the Throne, but He will reign in Mount Zion.

So that is where we conclude it, thank you for watching. I hope you enjoyed this tour of Jerusalem. But not only the tour, but I hope I can convey through the video the Message and Testimony of Jesus Christ.  Amen.
